Many people who take a combination of medicines can find it a struggle to stay on track with their medications, but we can help. Here are some other ways you can make managing and sticking to your medication routine easier.
To avoid missing or doubling medication doses:
- Get a pill organizer and keep it where you will see it every day. Choose a specific day and time each week to fill it with your pills for the entire week.
- Maintain a schedule for your medication regimen — try using a calendar or start a medication journal.
- Use a smart phone app with a pill reminder function or set phone alarms or reminders.
- Use the buddy system — have an accountability partner or caregiver who can be your safety check.
- Ask your pharmacy if they offer multi-dose pill packs to simplify your regimen.
- If you have asthma, create an asthma action plan with your doctor.
