Postpartum Visit

What is this visit?

A checkup to make sure you are healing well after having a baby.

Who needs this visit?

Individuals who give birth should have postpartum care after delivery. Your doctor or obstetric care provider should contact or see you within the first 3 weeks after birth, followed by care as needed. A comprehensive postpartum visit should occur no later than 12 weeks after delivery. If you had a C-section, your doctor may also want to see you within 1 to 2 weeks to check your incision. You should contact your doctor sooner for any concerns or problems.
