Over-the-Counter (OTC) Medications

As a member of Johns Hopkins Advantage MD, you can save money on a wide variety of over-the-counter (OTC) health items, such as drugs, supplies, and self-care products without a prescription.

This benefit is available through the plan’s 2026 OTC benefit for Advantage MD (HMO), D-SNP (HMO D-SNP), and Tribute (HMO).

The OTC benefit offers you an easy way to get generic over-the-counter health and wellness products that you use every day by ordering online through the BenefitsPro Portal and App, over the phone, or visiting a participating® store (Including Walmart, Giant, Safeway, and others).

The OTC catalog contains a complete listing of all plan-covered OTC drugs, supplies, self-care products and the price of each item.

Order your OTC items in the way that’s easiest for you.

Online

  • Login to jhhp.nationsbenefits.com and explore approved OTC products. If you do not have an account, click the “Register”  button and, with your member ID, follow the instructions to register and create a password that you will use each time you log in.
    Need help locating your member ID? Select “Get help locating your member ID.”
  • After logging in to your account, you can view your benefit amount and balance and browse thousands of available products. After adding items to your basket, simply “checkout”. Your order total will automatically be deducted from your balance.
  • When placing an order, you have the option to opt in to receive text or email notifications to receive order updates and tracking information. Your order will arrive in 2 business days.

By Phone

To order over the phone, find the products you want to order in the catalog, have your member ID ready and call 888-959-2069 (TTY: 711) and speak to a live agent. Available Monday to Sunday, from 8 AM to 8 PM ET.


In Store

Return Policy

Due to the personal nature of the products, no returns or exchanges are allowed. If you have not received your order or if you received a defective or damaged item, please call NationsBenefits within 30 days of placing your order.

What is the Over-the-Counter (OTC) benefit?

The benefit lets you get over-the-counter items by going to any allowed stores. You can also order by phone at 1-888-959-2069 (TTY: 711) Monday to Sunday, from 8 AM to 8 PM local time or online. You order from a list of approved items, and it will be sent to your address.

Where can I find my member ID number?

It can be found on the front of your Advantage MD member ID card.

How much is my OTC benefit?

The amount depends on your benefit plan. Check your plan documents or call 888-959-2069 (TTY: 711) and speak to a live agent. Available Monday to Sunday, from 8 AM to 8 PM ET.

Can I carry over unused benefit amount to the next benefit period?

Unused benefit amounts do not roll over to the next quarter.

Can I order more than my benefit amount?

Yes, however, if the purchase amount is more than the available funds on your card, you will need to pay the balance with another form of payment.

Are all items available at the stores?

Not all items are available in stores. Items marked with a truck icon in the catalog can only be ordered over the phone or online.

Can I cancel my order once it has been placed?

Orders can only be canceled within 30 minutes after being placed. To cancel an order, you can use the BenefitsPro Portal or App or talk to an agent.

How do I confirm my order was placed?

Once the order is placed, you will receive an order number. Access to order history is also available in the BenefitsPro Portal or App. Always keep your order number.

Can I track my order?

You can use the BenefitsPro Portal or App to track an order. If your phone number or email was added to your account, you will also receive email/ text updates.

How will the items be shipped?

Items are shipped via FedEx or UPS  to your home at no charge to you. Please allow up to 2 business days after order placement for delivery.
